Our Favorite 1 Minute Workout (Yes, You Read That Correctly)

DSC_0040For years, we’ve read countless articles on how to sneak exercise into our daily routines & how to make exercising more convenient. I’m sure by now we understand how important exercise is, but little did we know the impact of just one minute. A study we found through the New York Times suggests just one minute of intense exercise can improve your overall health & fitness .

The study found that one minute of intense exercise embedded into an easy 10 minute workout is extremely beneficial. One minute of intense exercise, spread out over three 20-second intervals, can include sprinting or cycling, just to name a few.  

This fitness regime, done three times a week, resulted in:

  • Increased endurance capacity by 12%
  • Healthier blood pressure
  • Improved level of blood-sugar control for male participants
  • Increases in the number and activity of mitochondria, translating to a higher level of endurance and fitness
