 Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Opening 

Job Description: The medical assistant helps patients by providing clinical assistance in the office

  • Welcomes patients by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
  • The medical assistant prepares patients for the health care visit by directing and/or accompanying them to the examining room; providing examination gowns and drapes; helping them to position themselves for the examination and/or treatment; arranging examining room instruments, supplies, and equipment
  • Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; reviewing and/or recording medical history; taking vital signs; confirming purpose of visit or treatment.
  • The medical assistant supports patient care delivery by helping health care providers during examinations; preparing laboratory specimens; performing basic laboratory tests on the premises; disposing of contaminated supplies; sterilizing medical instruments; administering medications on the premises; authorizing drug refills as directed; telephoning prescriptions to pharmacies; drawing blood; taking electrocardiograms.
  • Educates patients by providing medication and diet information and instructions; answering questions
  • The medical assistant completes records by recording patient examination, treatment, and test results
  • Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
  • The medical assistant maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
  • Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential.

Front Office/Call Center Specialist Opening

Summary: Responsible for greeting patients, verifying their demographic and insurance information, collecting payments, and Answering phone calls by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Answer telephone promptly and in a polite and professional manner*
  • Obtain and enter accurate demographic information into eClinical Works*
  • Schedule appointments properly and inform patient of items to bring to appointment*
  • Answer questions and offer other information, as requested, to provide patient-focused service and a positive impression of the organization*
  • Act as a liaison for the patients of the clinic*
  • Direct calls to other departments as necessary*
  • Follow up with rescheduling missed appointments as assigned*
  • Greets patients.*
  • Verifies insurance and scans insurance cards with a photo identification.*
  • Verifies patient demographic information.*
  • Verifies patient appointments for the next day.*
  • Makes copies, faxes documents, and shreds documents within company protocals.*
  • Takes accurate messages and conveys them to the doctor/medical assistance.*
  • Opens the building at the designated time each day, ensures the readiness of the reception area, and ensures that the front desk activities are fully operational at the start of the business day.*
  • Participates in staff and educational meetings.*
  • Advises supervisor of items that need to be ordered for the front desk.*
  • Manages incoming hospital consults/calls back paged to the doctors.*
  • Collects and posts charges and payments according to protocols, prepares and balances daily financial registers, and submits all forms to their supervisor.*
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Paychex FLEX, internet software, Paychex HR Online, and eClinical Works.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Marketing Associate Opening!

Catheterization Laboratory Nurse Opening!

Summary: Assist physicians in the tasks and responsibilities necessary in the performance of cardiac catheterization and peripheral angiography. Independently provide patient care pre and post procedure with minimal supervision.

Duties and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Assist in maintaining and operating cath lab and recovery equipment.
  • Utilizing sterile technique assist in set up and maintains the appropriate instrument and supply table for various procedures performed in the cath lab.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of medications and supplies for cath lab operations, reorder as necessary.
  • Transport patients from preparation area to cath lab.
  • Prepare the patient for and monitor patient during and after cath lab procedures.
  • Assist the physicians in cath lab procedures as requested.
  • Maintain and operate blood saturation equipment.
  • Administer appropriate medication and dosage per physician order in pre-procedure, during a cath lab procedure, and in recovery
  • Safely transport patients to recovery and monitor patients during transport.
  • Maintain a clean environment in the cath lab and recovery areas.
  • Maintain secure inventory of controlled substances and keep accurate records of all controlled substances.
  • Meet continuing education requirements in order to maintain license as required by State law.
  • Check code chart daily for all supplies, drugs, and check defibrillator for charge.
  • Perform appropriate quality control daily, weekly and monthly.
  • Assist physicians in preparing cath lab reports and enter data as required.
  • Proper disposal of biohazard and radioactive waste as regulated by OSHA and the Florida State Office of Radiation Control.

Education/Experience: An Associate’s Degree in nursing with a Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. A current Florida RN license and at least five years of cardiac care experience with three years of past cath recovery experience. Experience as a Cath Tech is a plus.

Recover Room Nurse Opening!

Summary: The Recovery Room Nurse is responsible for providing skilled nursing care during the pre and post catheterization period. This includes proper patient evaluation and preparation and monitoring patients post procedure.

Duties and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Provides pre-cath care for patients (i.e., starts IV’s, preps area for cath, reviews procedure with patient).
  • Administers medication intravenously, orally, and intramuscularly as directed by physician.
  • Monitors patient’s vital signs as per pre and post cath orders and records data in a specified manner.
  • Evaluates patient condition at all times and notifies physician of any problems.
  • Performs CPR, defibrillates patient and operates temporary pacemakers and IABP when necessary.
  • Provides any necessary assistance to patient or physician in emergency situations.
  • Assists Technical staff as necessary.
  • Discharges patient from facility with help from Technician staff.
  • Responsible for accurate documentation of all patient data.
  • Maintains Recovery Room area in accordance with established guidelines.

Education/Experience: An Associate’s Degree in nursing with a Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. A current Florida RN license and at least five years of cardiac care experience with three years of past cath recovery experience. Experience as a Cath Tech is a plus.

Insurance Verification Specialist Opening!

Full-time
Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The insurance verification specialist is responsible for verifying patient insurance coverage, to ensure necessary procedures are covered by an individual’s provider.*
  • Responsible for entering data and patient demographic information such as policy, patient, and co-payment in an accurate manner as well as verifying all existing information for accuracy and updates accordingly, which may require re-verification with the patient’s insurance provider.*
  • When necessary, the insurance carrier or primary care physician to gain correct information two weeks prior to the patient’s scheduled visit.*
  • Requires professionals to spend time on the phone with insurance companies and/or patients to convey coverages to patients.*
  • Serves as a resource to patients, providing them with pertinent information regarding their coverage, and working with patients to explain coverage amounts by their insurance policy, so they can understand why some procedures may be covered, while others are not.*
  • Provides the self-pay rates, if a patient doesn’t have insurance.*
  • Responsible for approval/deny notices that are sent to the patient’s chart for documentation.*
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Initiates authorization requests for outpatient and inpatient services in accordance with the prior authorization list and routes to appropriate staff when needed.*
  • Verifies eligibility and benefits for all patients.*
  • Answers phone queues and processes faxes within the established standards.*
  • Enters authorizations into the system prior to office visit.*
  • Notifies patient via phone of completed referral and mail a copy.*
  • Assists patients with scheduling appointments, as needed.*

Medical Scribe Opening!

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Transcribe history and physical exam, and document accurately the physician’s encounter with the patient and other’s present.
  • List all proper diagnosis and symptoms as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the physician.
  • Transcribe patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc.

Finance Assistant Opening! 

Summary: Responsible for assisting accounts receivable and payables to get hands on experience working under executive director, director of finance, and director of revenue cycle by performing the following.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Assists with monthly financial reports.*
  2. Posts journal entries as provided.*
  3. Enter data into QuickBooks – an accounting software program.*
  4. Performs reconciliations of Quickbooks accounts as needed.*
  5. Enter deposits in Quickbooks.*
  6. Audit Vendors accounts as needed and maintain vendor information.*
  7. Process incoming invoices and mail.*
  8. Scan invoices and place in correct location for approval process.*
  9. Track invoices for approval process.*
  10. Track imported items from Hybrent – a third party inventory and invoicing program that imports directly to QuickBooks for bill payment. *
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.
