Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Opening
Job Description: The medical assistant helps patients by providing clinical assistance in the office
- Welcomes patients by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
- The medical assistant prepares patients for the health care visit by directing and/or accompanying them to the examining room; providing examination gowns and drapes; helping them to position themselves for the examination and/or treatment; arranging examining room instruments, supplies, and equipment
- Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; reviewing and/or recording medical history; taking vital signs; confirming purpose of visit or treatment.
- The medical assistant supports patient care delivery by helping health care providers during examinations; preparing laboratory specimens; performing basic laboratory tests on the premises; disposing of contaminated supplies; sterilizing medical instruments; administering medications on the premises; authorizing drug refills as directed; telephoning prescriptions to pharmacies; drawing blood; taking electrocardiograms.
- Educates patients by providing medication and diet information and instructions; answering questions
- The medical assistant completes records by recording patient examination, treatment, and test results
- Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
- The medical assistant maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
- Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential.
- Serves and protects the physician or health care provider practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
- The medical assistant enhances health care practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. - Must be able to assist front office with high volume calls and patient scheduling

Front Office/Call Center Specialist Opening
Summary: Responsible for greeting patients, verifying their demographic and insurance information, collecting payments, and Answering phone calls by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Answer telephone promptly and in a polite and professional manner*
- Obtain and enter accurate demographic information into eClinical Works*
- Schedule appointments properly and inform patient of items to bring to appointment*
- Answer questions and offer other information, as requested, to provide patient-focused service and a positive impression of the organization*
- Act as a liaison for the patients of the clinic*
- Direct calls to other departments as necessary*
- Follow up with rescheduling missed appointments as assigned*
- Greets patients.*
- Verifies insurance and scans insurance cards with a photo identification.*
- Verifies patient demographic information.*
- Verifies patient appointments for the next day.*
- Makes copies, faxes documents, and shreds documents within company protocals.*
- Takes accurate messages and conveys them to the doctor/medical assistance.*
- Opens the building at the designated time each day, ensures the readiness of the reception area, and ensures that the front desk activities are fully operational at the start of the business day.*
- Participates in staff and educational meetings.*
- Advises supervisor of items that need to be ordered for the front desk.*
- Manages incoming hospital consults/calls back paged to the doctors.*
- Collects and posts charges and payments according to protocols, prepares and balances daily financial registers, and submits all forms to their supervisor.*
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Paychex FLEX, internet software, Paychex HR Online, and eClinical Works.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates and Licenses:
Valid driver’s license
