Dr. Khatib Interview with WSOS St. Augustine

In honor of American Heart Month, Dr. Khatib sat down with Kevin Geddings and Sam Mascato of WSOS 99.5 – St Augustine to discuss the trends he’s seen in heart disease over his 15-year career. A few highlights:

  • Obesity, smoking, and bad eating habits can increase the risk for heart disease – but it’s not too late to reverse the damage. Talk to your primary care doctor about how to lose weight and quit smoking.
  • Advances in technology have made cardiovascular care more cost-effective and successful than ever before.
  • Serious cardiovascular conditions, such as peripheral artery disease (PAD) can be treated and even slowed if diagnosed early but can be fatal if left untreated.
  • Yearly visits to a primary care doctor are crucial in preventing or identifying cardiovascular disease and improving overall health.
