Doctor Ali And The LOTUS Edge Device

Doctor Vaqar Ali at First Coast Cardiovascular Institute is one of the first cardiologists in Jacksonville to use the newly FDA approved Lotus Edge Valve System for patients with severe aortic stenosis who are considered high-risk for open heart surgery.

As a non-surgical alternative for these patients, often with complex anatomical challenges, the trans-catheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) device is delivered through a minimally invasive procedure to restore proper blood flow to the diseased valve.

The Boston Scientific LOTUS Edge device helps physicians to find the most optimal placement in the heart. This helps to largely improve patient outcomes and make the device as effective as possible as well as decreasing negative side effects.
