Born and raised in Jacksonville Beach, Curtis Clausen, APRN is a true Florida native. He spent 14 years as an Open Heart Recovery and Critical Care Nurse prior to receiving his degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner. He graduated with honors from both the University of Phoenix, receiving his Bachelors of Science in Nursing and from Graceland University, receiving a Master of Science in Nursing as an Advanced Practitioner Registered Nurse (APRN)/ Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). He is board certified through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
His most recent experience as a nurse practitioner includes practicing as a first assist in cardiothoracic surgery, managing post open heart and thoracic surgical patients, and evaluating patients prior to and following surgery. Similarly, he has practiced as a first assist in neurosurgery, assisting in brain and spine surgery, and evaluating patients pre and post-surgery. Curtis is excited to be part of such a fantastic team of physicians and mid-level providers at FCCI saying, “The attention given to each patient and the relationship between patient and provider is unmatched in Northeast Florida. I am very fortunate to be part of such a professional organization whose primary concern is the patient.”
Curtis enjoys spending time with his family, scuba diving, working out, and training for various events such as the “Tough Mudder” and MS Mud Run. He is enthusiastic about the physical and emotional wellbeing of his patients and promotes a healthy lifestyle when providing care.
