Another First For FCCI: New Treatment for CLI Patients

Congratulations to Dr. Vaqar Ali, Interventional Cardiologist, for being the first in Florida to perform the new Esprit BTK procedure!

Esprit BTK (below the knee) is an investigational device that treats patients with CLI (critical limb ischemia) below the knee. Patients with CLI, have reduced blood flow to their feet because the blood vessels in their legs are blocked.

Treatment with Esprit BTK begins with the device being inserted into the blocked vessel. This insertion opens up the blockage and releases a small amount of drug to help your vessel heal. Esprit BTK will slowly dissolve over time, so that nothing is left in your vessel. This process takes about 3 years.

If you think you could qualify for the LIFE-BTK Study, please call our office at 904.493.3333 and ask to speak to our research department.
